Clean the throttle body and IAC: smoother idle and fewer stalls

Overview

Carbon builds up on the throttle body butterfly and the IAC valve over time and affects how the engine idles. A rough idle, stalling at stops, or an idle that hunts up and down are all common symptoms. Cleaning both takes about 20 minutes and a can of throttle body cleaner. Do this before you replace any parts for an idle complaint.
