Renix (1987 to 1990): ground refreshing for better starts and drivability

Bad grounds can create random no-starts and weird sensor behavior on Renix rigs.

When to use this guide: 1987 to 1990 XJ with intermittent issues, stalling, or rough running.

Overview

On an '87 to '90 XJ, bad grounds cause more mystery problems than almost anything else. Random stalling, weird idle, hard starts, bad sensor readings, a lot of it goes away after you clean and re-do the grounds at the engine, firewall, and body. It's free labor and it works. Do this before you start chasing sensors.
